Cultural Diversity in Classes

How to deal with cultural diversity in classrooms?

Culture is a word that describes a group's way of life. it includes values, traditions, and attitudes. It is exposed to changing it's not static because it is learned. Beginning teachers worry a lot about how to work effectively with multicultural classes. Numerous strategies are used to deal with needs of all students regardless of their culture, race or ethnicity.

First of all, effective teachers should know about cultural diversity in class, prepare a climate, and respect all students. Second strategy, is using the knowledge and strengths of students to improve the curriculum. third way, is linking lessons and class work to the students background and cultures knowledge. Fourth way, is developing cultural competence. Fifth strategic way, is building a trusting relationship with parents. The last but not least, and most importantly focusing on student's academic success and that all students of any culture or race have the capacity to succeed.

In these ways a teacher can overcome his/her fear of dealing with multicultural classes.
